ABSiTRACI: The purpose of this development study is to devetop instructional media of Perspective Drawing subjea. The research method chosen to achieve this goal is by the type of research and development. The subjects were the researchers themselves and students who are taking Perspective Drawing subject in 2008, a total of 37 students. The object of this research is Perspective Drawing materialthat includes concepts of: perspective drawing, perspective drawing points, lines, fields, objecB, doors, and perspective drawing of the sui and lightshade. The experimentwas conducted from Aprilto November2008, atArts Education Study Program, JPBS FKIP UNS. The research procedure includes composing draft of research lessons implementation, instructional media materials, examining media by media experts, and trial on media in the classroom. Based on five basic competency of perspective Drawing subject, there are 9 learning media produced, including media of : (1) perspective drawinl concept, (2) determining the vanishing point, (3) determining the coordinates of points, (4j point perspective drawing, (5) perspective drawing of area, (6) perspective drawing of beam object, (7) perspective drawing of horizontal hinge door, (8) perspective drawing of object shade bysunlight, and (9) perspective drawingof objectshade by tamptight. A Construction of the Total Spherical Perspective in Ruler, Compass and Nail

    Get PDF
We obtain a construction of the total spherical perspective with ruler, compass, and nail. This is a generalization of the spherical perspective of Barre and Flocon to a 360 degree field of view. Since the 1960s, several generalizations of this perspective have been proposed, but they were either works of a computational nature, inadequate for drawing with simple instruments, or lacked a general method for solving all vanishing points. We establish a general setup for anamorphosis and central perspective, define the total spherical perspective within this framework, study its topology, and show how to solve it with simple instruments. We consider its uses both in freehand drawing and in computer visualization, and its relation with the problem of reflection on a sphere.Comment: Major revision of the 2015 version, with many changes, including and a new title. Main results unaltered, but important changes to the definitions, to notation and organization, and correction of minor errors. Illustrations revised/added, including a major illustration of spherical perspective on page 22. Added references to several works previously unknown. 25 pages, 12 figure

A Closer Look at Jamnitzer's Polyhedra

    Get PDF
The Renaissance artist Wentzel Jamnitzer designed series of intriguing polyhedra in perspective in his book “Perspectiva Corporum Regularium”. In this paper we investigate the possible principles of the construction of the polyhedra and create 3D computer models of them. Comparing those to the originals, we get an idea of how successful he was in drawing the complex structures by imagination. Furthermore, we analyse Jamnitzer's use of linear perspective, an important key in creating such drawings

Enhancing learning with authoritative actions: Reflective practice of positive power

    Get PDF
Drawing from classic power perspective, my reflective practice illuminates how power action, traditionally recognized as negative and detrimental to teaching process and learning outcomes, could be shaped in a positive way to enhance learning. Insights gained from this action research set in a politically charged and culturally homogenous environment provide critical perspective to the research community and challenge traditional practices of teaching and learning. Implications gained call for attention to critical perspective of empirical studies that could provide lessons for educators and researchers to create a more effective teaching and learning environment with authoritative power. An action framework is created in the end to illustrate how the positive authoritative process can be achieved

The divorce process: a view from the other side of the desk

Drawing on a research project in which forty clients were followed throughout the divorce process, this paper attempts to provide some insights into the perspective of the client. The analysis is focused on two specific issues, firstly the need of clients to receive understandable information and secondly, the overall aims of clients embarking on the divorce process.</p

Practicing Capitals Across Fields: Extending Bourdieu to Study Inter-Field Dynamics

    Get PDF
This essay extends a Bourdieusian perspective on the microfoundations of institutions. Drawing on this perspective, we argue that the recursive dynamics of institutions and action orient actors towards the maintenance of distinct and contradictory practices within, rather than bridging across, different fields. We corroborate our argument with an illustration of how corporate executives strategize within the tax field compared to the philanthropy field. Specifically, we show how actors are simultaneously oriented by different capitals towards apparently contradictory strategies. Our essay provides promising avenues for future research on the microfoundations of institutions, inter-field dynamics, and critical accounting and business ethics studies

Setting the stage: social-environmental and motivational predictors of optimal training engagement

    Get PDF
In this paper, we will firstly explore the central tenets of SDT. Research that has examined the social-environmental and motivation-related correlates of optimal training, performance and health-related engagement through the theoretical lens of SDT will be reviewed. Drawing from SDT-driven work undertaken in educational, sport and dance settings, we will draw conclusions and suggest future directions from a research and applied perspective

This research aims to learn the application of learning models constructivism course on drawing perspective. The type of this research is a research & development (R & D) by developing a learning package drawing perspective based constructivism learning model.Components of the package consists of, textbooks, lecture events unit (SAP), learning media (slides), learning design, assessment tools, guidelines to students, and guidelines for lecturers. The research method with a model-based constructivism, and begins with needs analysis, drafting packages, testingpackage, and the test results of applying the model as well as the implementation and application of the model development package. The results showed that with the package of learning development results and by applying the constructivism learning model, can improve students’ understanding of the concepts and principles drawing perspective. Keywords: Development of the package, Drawing perspective, constructivism learning model

Weaving webs of connection: Empathy, perspective taking, and students’ motivation

    Get PDF
L2 motivation is a relational phenomenon, shaped by teacher responsiveness (Lamb, 2017; Ushioda, 2009). Little, however, is known about the practices in which responsiveness is manifested. Drawing on research from the culturally responsive teaching paradigm (Petrone, 2013), and highlighting the role of empathy and perspective taking (Warren, 2018), the aim of this ethnographic case study of two lessons with a focus on poetry is to develop a relational understanding of the evolution of motivation. Analyses reveal how perspective taking has instructional and interactional dimensions, and how connections between lesson content and funds of knowledge with origins in students’ interactions with popular culture bring additional layers of meaning to learning. It is suggested that while connections that arise through perspective taking practices shape students’ in-the-moment motivational responses, they also accumulate in ways that lead to enduring motivational dispositions
